Sofia and Energi Coast
Working closely with the North East of England's offshore wind cluster
Sofia Offshore Wind Farm is actively involved with Energi Coast, North East England’s offshore wind cluster.
Made up of more than 30 key regional businesses and offshore wind stakeholder organisations, the cluster works to showcase the region's offshore wind supply chain capabilities and promote the NE as a key hub for servicing both the UK and international markets. As one of the region's most significant infrastructure projects, Sofia plays an active role within the group and participating in events and initiatives.
Energi Coast was established in 2011 by NOF and was reconstituted in 2019 to embrace wider stakeholder involvement and to support the ambitions of the Sector Deal including those around innovation, export, skills and careers.
As well as Sofia and other developers, plus the two Local Enterprises, namely Tees Valley Combined Authority and North East Local Enterprise Partnership, the cluster is made up of ports, supply chain, skills and academia, innovation and research.
Sofia team members are active participants in both the Industry Group, to develop links and get involved with cluster initiatives, and in the Cluster Management Group, to steer and endorse proposals and activity.
