Around 200 suppliers and stakeholders attended the event in Hull in early July (2022)
Around 200 suppliers and stakeholders attended the latest in Sofia's 'Tier 1 Showcase' supply chain series, events which have raised awareness of the contracting opportunities on the project and facilitated engagement between Tier 1 contractors and the local supply chain.
This time the event was a face-to-face gathering in Hull and featured presentations from Sofia's turbine supplier, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) and turbine installation vessel supplier, Cadeler, as well as an update on the project itself from Sofia.
Organised by NOF and supported by Energi Coast and Humber Marine and Renewables, the event gave those across the supply chain the chance to get together and network with many they may not have seen since before the Covid pandemic.
SGRE will supply the project with 100 of its latest model 14MW turbines - the SG 14-222 DD - while Cadeler will introduce two new state-of-the-art X-class installation vessels.
The presentations from the event included an overview of the construction activity, the types of packages that will be available on the project, contractor requirements and the timeframe for procurement.
They were followed by a networking lunch and then a series of 35 one-to-ones between SGRE, Cadeler and selected potential suppliers to the project. The one-to-ones gave suppliers the opportunity to present their company and its offering to the procurement teams.
The presentations from the day with all the key information can be downloaded here. A video of the event can also be viewed here.
