Contract signed for Siemens Gamesa flagship 14MW turbines

Sofia first in world to use SGRE 14MW turbines
It was confirmed today that Sofia will be the first offshore wind project in the world to use the Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy flagship 14MW direct drive turbine, the evolutionary SG 14-222-DD.
The 100 turbines will be installed the farthest from shore of any project undertaken by the company and will feature the world’s largest single-cast turbine blade at 108m long.
Installation of the 252m tall turbines at the wind farm's Dogger Bank site will get underway in 2025.
