RWE celebrates new sponsorship for Energy Central Learning Hub with publication of latest project video
RWE has renewed its Platinum Business Sponsorship of the Energy Central Campus, one of the most important stakeholders to the Sofia project.
The new sponsorship builds on the strong relationship first established by the Sofia Offshore Wind Farm, which became a Platinum Business Sponsor during the early development of ECC. It recognises the critical role that ECC is playing in developing the clean energy workforce of the future.
As a Platinum Business Sponsor, RWE will continue to be an important supporter of ECC’s mission, helping to shape its training provision that responds directly to industry needs and ensures the development of high-quality, future-ready talent for the clean energy sector.
Danielle Lane, RWE’s Director of Offshore Wind Development (UK and Ireland) said: “Through projects like Sofia, RWE is helping the United Kingdom reach its offshore wind target of 50GW installed capacity by 2030, and the wider aim to decarbonise the power system by 2035. Achieving these targets will only be possible with a much larger trained workforce available to construct, operate and maintain offshore wind farms. That’s why Energy Central is so important, and it’s why we are delighted to continue our support for this groundbreaking institution.”
Investing in relevant skills and talent is a critical part of our long-term strategy, to create the workforce needed in the future. To celebrate the new sponsorship we are pleased to also publish the next episode of the Sofia project impact series, which explains why we support Energy Central and what we hope to accomplish with this partnership.
