Through its work with Sofia, SCP has provided valuable experience to its transport planning junior team members. To further strengthen its team, the company is now recruiting an apprentice, a position which has been widely advertised across the Yorkshire and the Tees Valley.
SCP's engagement with Redcar and Cleveland Council, and involvement in the area, has led to it offering support and guidance to Tees Valley Combined Authority on bus matters, including concessionary payment, thereby expanding its focus and adding value to the region.
Training and development: As an SME, SCP recognises that its people and reputation are key to long term success. It takes pride in supporting staff on a personal and professional basis, and invests in training both technical and broader.
SCP annually reviews the individual training needs of all staff and invests in accommodating those training needs. The scope of work on Sofia has provided valuable training opportunities, particularly for junior staff.
With its history of supporting apprentices, SCP currently employs four apprentices and is recruiting two further apprentices, one specifically facilitated by this commission with Sofia. The company's apprentices, current and future, will be supported by SCP throughout their training and professional qualifications as they enter and develop their careers.
All opportunities across the company are open to further progression through a sustained demonstration of increased ability and high level of commitment.
