Bentley's Coffee Shop
Bentley’s Coffee Shop is a family run, independent business with a number of cafes across the Tees Valley region. Priding themselves on serving great locally roasted coffee and delicious food, Bentley’s has been ranked in the Small Business Saturday UK Small Biz 100, and has finished in the top three nominated businesses of the Tees Business Businesswomen Awards 2020, in the 'Best New Business' category.
Scope of work: Bentley’s Coffee Shop has provided Sofia with outside catering - delivering lunches, afternoon teas and refreshments to their construction sites in Wilton and Marske for milestones, team meetings and wider events.
Economic impact: In their words, it has been refreshing and a significant boost for a relatively small local business to have a company the size of Sofia engage with the local coffee shop. It has meant additional income and also experience which has been greatly appreciated. This is a small scope of work for Sofia when compared to the huge Tier 1 contracts, but the project needs support from a wide and varied range of suppliers to ensure its success, and is keen to ensure local businesses are able to benefit economically wherever possible.
Training and development: Bentley's apprentice, Jake Atkinson - recent winner of the Northern Skills Group’s Hospitality Apprentice of the Year Award - continues to gain fantastic work experience in designing, preparing and helping deliver the various lunches, afternoon teas and buffets for Sofia. This has broadened his knowledge of outside corporate catering and has helped him gain experience, contributing towards his studies and personal development.

When we were asked to cater for one of their prestigious events, we did not expect to have the opportunity to continue that relationship, and provide further catering services. As a small, family-run business, relationships with larger corporate companies are incredibly valuable and we really appreciate the relationship we’ve built with Sofia.”
